Here was a large collection of \u201cbeached\u201d icebergs, for which the elements of wind, water, freeze &amp; melt took control creating a variety of unique shapes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph Body\">\n<p class=\"paragraph Body\">Among these amazing icebergs, we were treated to a rare sighting of over 200 crab-eater seals swimming together in formation. It was certainly a sight to see and reminded me what these waters might have been like hundreds of years ago before humans came to hunt the mighty whales. I took a lot of video to capture the fluid motion of these animals. For now, here are two snapshots.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph Body\"><a href=\"\/KES\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/DSC03466.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-729  aligncenter\" src=\"\/KES\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/DSC03466-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"dsc03466\" width=\"444\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph Body\"><a href=\"\/KES\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/DSC03460.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-730  aligncenter\" src=\"\/KES\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/DSC03460-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"dsc03460\" width=\"446\" height=\"251\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"paragraph Body\">We also were courted by a leopard seal, the king of these oceans, well fed due to the local Gentoo penguin rookery nearby.<\/div>\n<div class=\"paragraph Body\">\u00a0<a href=\"\/KES\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/DSC03446.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-731\" src=\"\/KES\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/DSC03446-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"dsc03446\" width=\"435\" height=\"245\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"paragraph Body\">\n<div class=\"paragraph Body\">Pleneau Island itself was an interesting collection of large granite slabs, very different than any of the previous islands we had moored upon.
