I met some amazing people, among the scholars and other guests, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kandrsmith.org\/KES_html\/journal\/marshalls\/thatcher.gif\">Lady Margaret Thatcher<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kandrsmith.org\/KES_html\/journal\/marshalls\/symons.gif\">Barroness Symons of Vernham Dean<\/a> (Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs). These pictures were taken in the royal bedroom of the speaker&#8217;s house, where the monarchs of Britain would sleep the day before the Opening of Parliament (up to the second World War).<\/li>\n<li class=\"paragraph Free_Form\">March 31, 1997 Klaus-Peter Schroeder (postdoc) and I took some pictures of comet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kandrsmith.org\/KES_html\/journal\/mar97\/hbopp.gif\">Hale Bopp on March 31, 1997 <\/a>about 5 miles SW of Cambridge. This 5 minute exposure shows the blue ion tail and the white dust tail (f\/2, 100mm lens, 400 speed film).
